The Galápagos Islands and Ecuador, have been a "second home" to me,
as my husband grew up in Quito before coming to the states to study and
practice medicine. Once he introduced me to Ecuador, I fell in love with the
country and her people too! We'd go horseback riding in the shadow of
the Andes around his home in Quito, travel down the western slopes to the
sparkling Pacific to stay in a lovely hotel and to swim and play on the warm
and sparkling Pacific beaches and visit so many charming museums.
We found the tremendous variety of hummingbirds
just magical! Everywhere, we always felt so welcome and you will as well.

Though famous, primarily, for it's "Crown Jewel",
the Galápagos Islands, Ecuador, in my opinion,
is the jewel of the Andes. Our home here boasts
more than one piece of very special ceramic work
from Cuenca, a UNESCO World Hertiage city.
The mainland is blessed with Quito - their 15th
century capitol city, Ingapirca Incan historical site
and the easily accessible Napo River jungle lodge
area, Guayaquil, on the coast, is a treasure trove...
